        Bonjour !

I present here a few pages dealing with my passion for the Wood, for its craftsmanship, and in particular for the singing wood, the one for musical instruments.
The aim of these pages is to share with the larger community my little experience on different topics related to the wood, such as :

  • The luthier work : I build and repair string instruments, woodwinds, and sometimes percussions.
  • Wood-turning
  • Wooden jewellery making: turned, carved, inlaid ...
  • Miscellaneous wooden objects, sometimes unusual.
  • My workshop tricks, for general woodworking, for woodturning and more specifically for the luthiery.
  • The softwares and tools I use or personally develop for whatever is relative to woodworking and luthiery. (Tools that I also share with my fellow friends from the forum the "Tontons Luthiers").

In all my activities, the Internet is a providence for me. I learn there a lot, and it provides for lots of opportunities of exchange between passionate persons.
Do not hesitate to react to articles and to ask me questions if necessary, I will be pleased to be delighted to help in turn.

I wish you a good reading, and lots of pleasure in all your works !
Feel free to react and comment the articles or to contact me r in the  "Webmaster" section.

In order to please a friend of mine who is found of cats, I made this character (about 15cm high) out of scroll sawn wood, the cat is covered with suede leather.

The design comes from an image found on Pinterest, I thank the author that I could not identify unfortunately.

A small spinning top made by myself  out of solid steel, inspired from the movie with  Leonardo Di Caprio  "Inception".

If it spins indefinitely, we are in a dream, if ends up stopping, then it is real life....

FB

A small video where you can see it spinning for 2 minutes :

About the method for building it, unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures, but roughly speaking,, it is step turned to a shape closed to the profile you want, then semi-finished with a half round file, then finished with emeri grit clothe, from grain 120 to 600.
